The Great Lakes Glass and Glazing Forum is an event for industry leaders in glass, glazing systems, building enclosures and construction. This event will include 5 hours of approved AIA HSW learning units associated with the Glass and Glazing Industry. In attendance there will be vendors, architects, spec writers, façade consultants, glazing contractors, installers and more! Expect an educational day with industry networking, plenty of food and giveaways. All registrations and food are free of charge.
This course provides an in depth look at the quality and safety risks associated with Curtain Wall, Store Front, and Building Envelope projects and how to mitigate those risks with quality and safety processes and systems. The course looks at common areas that cause failures and defects and explores how verification processes can be established to avoid costly mistakes.
Jeff Dalaba is the Program Manager for the North American Contractor Certification Program (NACC) and Architectural Glass and Metal Technician Certification Program (AGMT) with Administrative Management Systems (AMS, Inc.). He has provided development leadership in coordination with the NACC Program Certification Board, as well as other glazing industry experts, since the inception of the NACC Program to compile the industry provided best practices into the ANSI Accredited Certification Program. He also leads the AGMT Personnel Certification that tests both written knowledge and physical abilities of glazing technicians. In 2021 US Glass recognized Jeff in the list of The Glass and Metal Industry’s Most Influential People.
Jeff has served in executive management roles for 24 years. He is also a veteran who has served on a U.S. Navy Fast Attack Submarine and completed 4 deployments in the North Seas and under the polar ice cap.
This course provides an overview of glass wall systems, glass types, and access control hardware that are commonly installed in office fronts utilizing building methods and codes to provide energy efficiency and sustainability.

In this capacity, his focus is to propel dorma+kaba Group’s position in the glass interiors market by applying his extensive knowledge of the industry and his expansive experience in sales and project management. Joseph will lead sales and distribution efforts in the USA & Canada & lead the continued launch of Uniquin demountable wall systems/HSW, Custom Solutions, Key Accounts for the Dormakaba IGS Americas/Canada segment.
From 1997, Joseph served in various progressive positions, starting as an installer, designer, project manager & sales within the Division 10 furniture & glass wall industries. His goals are to brand and sell incredible products Nationally with the focus of organized discussions, design assist, engineering, research & development. His passion is to solve your problems by asking the right questions and paying attention to all the details.

As Architectural Design Manager, Craft supports the architectural and design community in the education and specification of high performance coated glass products, including the Guardian SunGuard portfolio. His territory includes Illinois, Wisconsin, Missouri, and Iowa. He has more than 20 years of experience in the glass industry and has been involved with projects throughout the world for Guardian.
Craft works with architects, engineers and facade consultants around the world and understands the aesthetics and performance requirements to help them build with light.
This course includes a review of the material nature of components that make up aluminum storefront, doors and curtainwall systems and how they relate to sustainability issues, and how these systems can comply with programs such as LEED and LBC/Red List Free. It covers in depth the energy efficiency gained from aluminum storefront, doors and curtainwall and also how such products properly installed contribute to the health safety and well-being of the building occupants. It further discusses how to properly document the properties and compliance of such products for submission to sustainability programs on projects requiring those
After earning an associate degree in architectural technology from Ferris State University, Brian worked for 33 years in the construction industry performing everything from design layout of structures, working drawings for their construction to energy modeling of their thermal performance. Brian has worked for Tubelite, Inc. in the fenestration industry for a little over 10 years—first filling the position of an estimator, transitioning into the database team, before moving into his current position as an architectural representative for the last 5 years. He is a LEED accredited professional through the USGBC's examination program (under LEED 2.2 in 2009). Brian received his accreditation while with a Triangle Associates one of the larger G.C.’s in West Michigan and one that wished to lead the industry at the time in ensuring their staff were LEED AP’s.
Topics discussed include the origins of translucent daylighting with the structural sandwich panel, considerations in design, enhancement of daylighting techniques, real energy conservation, the eight systems, and opportunities offered in contrast, design, form and aesthetics. The benefits of diffused natural daylighting when used in stadiums, gymnasiums, practice facilities, and aquatic centers are emphasized. Specialty performance systems including Daylight Modeling, blast resistant, hurricane impact and OSHA fall through protection is included.
Tom Hon is the Regional Sales Manager for Kalwall Corp. and Structures Unlimited, Inc. working out of the Kansas City, Missouri. Tom’s territory includes the Midwest, Rockies and Western Canada. With the outstanding efforts of Tom’s 12 Distributors, he was named the Kalwall Regional Sales Manager of the year in 2019.
Prior to accepting the RSM position with Kalwall in October of 2014, Tom was the Salesman for Kalwall’s Distributor in Kansas City - SGH, Inc. for Western Missouri and NE Kansas for 14 years.
Outside of work, Tom enjoys building furniture, rebuilding cars and antique tractors, as well as spending time with his wife, two sons - daughters-in-law and grandchildren.
